Today we’re just gonna have a quick look at the new Red Gum log splitter that’s available.

In contrast to the standard flat level log splitter that you can tip up to do large, large logs, this one has a lifter on it. So for big heavy logs you use the lifter, it just brings the log up and they sit on the bench. You’ve got a larger tray table as well, so when you’re working the machine, you’ve got a lot of room to put the split wood on.

Because you’re working at waist level, there’s no leaning over, so you’ll find that it doesn’t work into your back at all. It’s a really comfortable machine to operate. The lower and raise lever is nice and easy to get to. So you just tend to be working in the one spot, apart from when you need to put the log on.

The actual lifter itself, it’s still powered by a Honda GX engine, which is backed by a warranty Australia wide. So definitely worth a look if you’ve got some big wood to split.
